Season 1 Episode 1 of the THFF Podcast is above in the embedded player. I submitted the episode (and will submit to iTunes for all future episodes) to iTunes. I'm definitely an amateur at podcasting!! I'm hoping they'll progressively get better. If you have any topics that you would like me to discuss in a future podcast, you can leave a comment below or shoot me an email.

Hi Tyler
Really enjoyed your podcast on Beginners Fly Fishing. One question---what weight rod should I consider when my wife and I come to NC in the summer. I have a 5 weight Redington and a 3 weight TFO--Thanks Bill

Bill,

Thanks!! Glad you enjoyed the podcast. I'm trying to make the next one a little better...

Both would be great to have. Here in NC a 5wt is pretty much an average weight for most trout. The 3wt would come in handy if you guys were to fish smaller streams with smaller fish. If you fish the Davidson River, that 5wt is a necessity. A 3wt would be too small if you were to hook into one of the many monster fish on the Davidson.

The 5 weight is my standard rod, although I like the 3 for bluegill, which is coming up in the next 3 to 4 weeks on our local lake. It is a blast catching them on the 3 weight. I like the blog template you are using, is it a Google template? I looked at the template demos but didn't see one like you are using for your blog. I may have missed it. Bill

Catching bluegill on a 3wt is a a lot of fun!! Especially when you're fishing dries. Watching them attack, not rise, but absolutely attack a dry is great! They have to be related to piranhas some how!!

If you go down to the very last thing at the bottom of the blog (right below the Fly Fishing Loop Member banner) you'll see a link that says "blogger templates". This is where you're able to download the 3 column blog template. I've used it for almost the entire time I've had the blog. The good thing about it is that there is more space for widgets and links. On the downside, you can't put a picture in the header (pretty sure you can't, could be wrong). If you need any help trying to upload the template, I'll do what I can to help ya out...
